BC's 150th Birthday & Zipping Around
Launch Pad for BC’s 150th Birthday
On March 18, 2008 the Province held a launch party at Landmark Aviation in Richmond, BC with eight corporate sponsors of the BC150 celebrations. Harbour Air was among them, proudly showcasing one of its Otter aircraft bearing the BC150 insignia.
Sponsor companies contribute support through in-kind resources or sponsoring events that align with BC150’s five key

Randy Wright, Harbour Air’s Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, shared his enthusiasm: “As the world’s largest-all seaplane airline, and the first in the world to achieve complete carbon neutrality, Harbour Air congratulates British Columbia on its incredible achievements over the past 150 years, and is proud to partner with BC150 to celebrate all that makes this province The Best Place on Earth.”
Making it Easy to Zip Around
Car cooperatives are gaining popularity around the globe. Rising gas prices and environmental concerns about owning and operating a vehicle have made the idea of sharing a vehicle attractive to many people.
Car sharing companies offer the benefits of car ownership without the hassles. For people who only need a car once in a while, a car co-op is much more cost-effective than owning, renting or leasing a private vehicle. The company usually pays for assigned parking, maintenance, insurance and even gas.
Now Harbour Air makes it easier for you to join the world’s largest car sharing company.
On April 1, Harbour Air partnered with Zipcar to offer employees and guests the opportunity to join at a discounted annual rate of $30. In addition, they’ll be able to take advantage of Zipcar’s business rates, rather than regular rates.

Zipcar offers self-service, on-demand cars by the hour or day. In just minutes or up to a year in advance, members can reserve Zipcars online or by phone, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Members access Zipcars using a “Zipcard” to simply unlock the door and drive away. Rates are as low as $8 per hour and $57.50 per day, with gas, parking, insurance and maintenance included.
Members can choose from more than 25 different makes and models, including gas/electric hybrids, SUVs, pickup trucks, sedans and high-end vehicles including the MINI Cooper, and BMW 325i. Zipcar also guarantees its members they will get the car they reserve, unlike rental car companies. And a Zipcar is stationed at Harbour Air’s Vancouver Harbour terminal—how convenient!
